Education is not only aimed at giving us a possibility to communicate our ideas and satisfy basic needs. Based on the needs and tendencies of a modern society, the purpose of education is to prepare students to be self-sufficient citizens capable of building and supporting the society, and to make them peacemakers and healers of the world.

(VIDEOS) - a few samples from my YT Channel

In my YouTube Channel SS Academy, all the educational videos are about the most common Physics topics that are tested in exams, quizzes or tests, at the high school and university level, including but not limited to, Edexcel and Cambridge AS/A Levels and IGCSEs. I have tried my best to explain the subject matter for students in the simplest possible way.

Skills and abilities are not developed in classroom only. As Plato has presented his idea in “Allegory of the Cave” that to acquire the knowledge, we should leave the ‘Cave'. One should touch the real-world problems and get personal experience of it. This is not possible if our students are restricted to study in classroom only. It is our duty to help students gain the skills and knowledge that they need for success in life to pave their way for a better future.

A power point presentation or a 40 to 50 minutes class lecture is not enough. Also, each student has different learning needs. To raise the standard of education, students must be guided apart from their usual classrooms in schools. Students can be taught various techniques and strategies to solve the problems. As an example, a student with language impairment or the one who has poor verbal comprehension has difficulty in understanding verbal instructions and hence difficulty in understanding what is going on in real time, the classroom. A teacher cannot give him individual attention in class as he has to teach a number of students during a fixed interval of time. Coaching outside the classroom is a must as they can be guided and trained to learn through brainstorming, sample examples, and through written instructions in simplified language. The student goes through the same instructions over and over again.

Each child is unique and learns and performs according to his mental abilities. A teacher in a classroom cannot determine mental calibre of each student and does not have time to treat each one according to his learning needs. Some students perform better based on their exceptional working memory while others on the basis of their strengths in non-verbal expression. Some have limited verbal reasoning skills and limited processing speed. Strength of some students lie in the practical aspect of a subject, e.g. Information and Computer Technology whereas some possess very good analytical skills e.g. in the area of Art and Design.

There are students who perform better if information is presented in a concrete fashion. The more abstract a teaching method or style is, the more difficult it would be for him to understand and learn it. A group of children belongs to a category that have ability to learn presented information effectively but may have difficulty in transforming and applying the concepts taught to the new situations. Therefore, teaching methodology should be designed keeping in view each student's strengths and weaknesses memory, visuo-spatial reasoning, verbal comprehension, vocabulary, and processing speed.

In conclusion, each student presents a strong capacity for learning based on his mental abilities. Therefore, to stretch the boundaries of his abilities, each student must get the right support and should be prepared in the best possible way to give him a fair chance of achieving qualifications that will allow him to lead an independent life.
